How to Choose the Right Wooden Door Cleaner
1.Prioritize neutral pH cleaners
Choose products marked pH neutral (pH 7). Strong alkaline or acidic cleaners will damage the paint and cause fading, whitening, or peeling.
2.Avoid solvents and harsh chemicals
Do not use cleaners containing alcohol, gasoline, thinner, banana oil, bleach, or strong decontamination ingredients. These can dissolve the wood finish.
3.Select special wood furniture cleaners
Look for products labeled for wooden furniture, wood doors, or wood flooring. They are mild and designed to clean without harming the paint.
4.Mild home alternatives
For daily light stains, diluted dish soap or mild laundry detergent works well. Always wring the cloth until almost dry.
5.Avoid abrasive products
Do not use scouring powder, steel wool, or hard-bristle brushes, as they will scratch the surface.
6.Test in an inconspicuous spot first
Before full cleaning, test the cleaner on the bottom or back of the door to ensure no discoloration or damage.
7. Match with your door type
Painted wooden doors: Use water-based neutral cleaners.
Unpainted / waxed solid wood: Use wood wax oil or special wood cleaner.
PVC / paint-free doors: Use only gentle neutral detergent.
